Using Public Wifi Safely.
When on public wifi you need to be a little more mindful of what your doing in order to stay safe. First of just try to stay on familiar networks you know you can trust. Familiar networks are like your home wifi and your personal hotspot and an unsafe one can be Starbuck's free wifi. Hackers will sometimes create public wifi networks that look the same as for example Starbucks, but in reality you are connecting to them and they can steal your data. Filesharing is another way hackers can steal data as they can fileshare a file to you that contains maleware which would give them access to your personal data, so it is adviced that you turn off file sharing when using public wifi.
Some of the best ways to defend against hackers stealing your data is by using a vpn and or anti virus software. Another way to keep yourself safe on public wifi is to make sure you have a secure connection, you can check this by clicking on the link of the website you are currently on and if it starts with http:// it is unsecure and https:// is a secure connection.
Quick Recap on how to stay safe on public wifi:
* Try and use networks you are familiar with or a personal hotspot
* Turn off filesharing on your devices
* Make sure the sites you are on have a secure connection
